Pink & White ~ A New Look!

 

hi everyone, welcome to the new look city of blackbirds :)  

i just spent the last two days tinkering with CSS to change things around, which is quite difficult when you know very little about CSS!  i've learned quite a lot in the last couple of days though & i like how the blog looks now, nice & simple & sweet.  i think there are a couple of things that still need fixing, but this will do for the moment.  

i hope you like it, let me know if you notice any problems!  

what did you all get up to for the weekend?  i had planned to do so much, but of course that all got sidetracked when my quest for a new blog layout took a lot longer than expected.  i did however manage to find some time to bake some cupcakes and use a piping bag for the first time which turned out to be lots of fun (photos to come soon, if i can hold off from eating them before i have a chance to pick up my camera!).

hi everyone, just a quick note to let you know about a new print in my etsy shop this evening!  

 

it's one of the shots i took of the fairy lights that decorated dublin during christmas, i love this one very much;  the lensbaby hearts came out just right :)

old things & new things ~

i haven't had much time for my own photography lately, so instead of solely posting my own photos on this blog i'm trying to branch out a little. so i'm beginning to share some of the things i find across the web every day that inspire me in the hopes that readers will enjoy them too :) 

today i've been oogling jewellery by foundling on etsy, she creates some of the most unique work i've seen and i find myself coveting her necklaces in particular!  she makes these pieces from recycled materials including original love letters, old maps and vintage dictionaries.  i love the fact that these weathered things are transformed into a gorgeous new tiny works of art.  

some of these would make such a special gift for valentine's day, so it'd be worth checking out her shop now while there's a little time left before the 14th!  there is also a foundling blog that you can keep your eye on here. 

i hope you've all enjoyed your weekend, i've been partying with my family, something not done too often these days as we're all living in different parts of the country now, so it was good to relax and celebrate with them!  hopefully i'll have some new photos soon if i ever get some free time to take the camera out again ♥

Blood & Ink ~

when i step into the stillness i remember

why my heart seeks to return to this place,

somewhere in its beat it remembers

that the night can be black;

dark and silent;

that the horns of the cresent moon
